Shell Springboard is designed to help SMEs with commercially-proven business models that reduce carbon emissions scale-up their businesses. Since launching in 2005, the programme has awarded £3.5 million to 92 UK SMEs at the cutting edge of the low-carbon economy. Over 80% of supported businesses are still in operation five years after starting-up. Each year, six regional winners receive awards of £40,000 each, and one national winner receives an additional £110,000 in equity-free funding to help scale-up their innovation. www.shellspringboard.org
