Skills Made Easy is a unique Government-led initiative designed to help small and medium businesses in the Sheffield City Region to develop and grow their workforces. Established in 2013 by the Sheffield City Region, the project is partnership between eight local authorities which is funded through the City Deal Initiative, providing Government funding to help employers create skilled jobs within the local economy. With a focus on providing impartial, tailored training opportunities, Skills Made Easy aims to create over 4,000 new apprenticeships within the Sheffield City Region by 2016, as well as helping employers to provide opportunities to upskills their workforces. Each company is supported by a training programme which is tailored specifically to meeting their needs as well as helping businesses to access Government grants and funding.
