Speedflex Speedflex

Profile

The Speedflex machine was developed in the USA in 2009 by the 13yr Major League Baseball Player and World Series Champion Darren Holmes, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist Dr. Jim Silliman and Athlete and Mechanical Engineer Joe Worley for the purpose of rehabilitation. Speedflex Europe Ltd was formed in 2011 by Chairman Graham Wylie (former Chairman and Founder of Sage Software), Paul Ferris (Barrister, former Professional Footballer and Physiotherapist at Newcastle United Football Club) and Alan Shearer (former Newcastle United and England captain). They developed the Speedflex experience by creating a unique concept around the original machine, this is now the concept which is being rolled out throughout the UK and internationally. The Speedflex concept uses the Speedflex machine and a number of other variables, including heart rate monitoring and personal training, to create a unique alternative to regular gyms and exercise classes, which is accessible to anyone. Speedflex aims to bring the incredible benefits of high intensity interval training to the general public by developing centres which enable individuals of all abilities to exercise safely, at intensities that were previously beyond their capabilities, with little or no soreness as a result. Before embarking on their Speedflex journey, users undertake a comprehensive induction process which includes a health assessment. They are constantly monitored by Speedflex Trainers and Physiologists both in the training room and the assessment room (where body composition, blood pressure, blood chemistry and fitness tests are carried out). Prices vary from centre to centre.
