Our Sorority Pilots its OCN accredited Workshop

Our Sorority is a community interest company tailored with programmes and workshops geared to support and empower young women in their personal, professional and social development. It engages with young people in a real and honest way allowing them to discuss, learn and raise awareness of current issues they may face within society today.

Our Sorority is ready to pilot its “What Happens” OCN accredited workshop and would like to offer it to secondary schools in London for FREE. “What Happens” is an educational workshop that is currently being piloted in Secondary Schools around London which seeks to address the vulnerability of young women. This workshop is based around a short film highlighting a state of vulnerability that a young woman may find herself in. This workshop is aimed at male and female students through Years 9-11.

The workshop is built around six sessions, which are one hour each. Each session addresses a specific topic that may lead to stages of vulnerability.

By the end of this six session workshop, we hope that your students will not only have a better understanding of female vulnerability within their community but will also feel empowered to make positive changes in their community; be confident young women with higher levels of self-esteem and independence. Upon completing the workshop, students will receive a certificate of accreditation and will be supplied with a “goody-bag” consisting of further information about Our Sorority and other agencies; alongside freebies and treats!

This workshop is delivered by two members of trained staff that have over 8 years’ experience in youth work; in many varied settings such as: Schools, Charities, Youth Offending Teams and Social Services.
