HIS Hair Clinic is the original innovator of MHT scalp pigmentation as an effective, modern solution for male pattern baldness, alopecia and other forms of hair loss. Company founders, Ian Watson and Ranbir Rai-Watson, began developing the MHT scalp pigmentation treatment in 2002, opening the first HIS Hair Clinic in Birmingham in 2006. Since then, global demand for the procedure has seen the company opening in locations that include Paris, London, Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles, Marbella and Dubai, amongst others. During MHT scalp pigmentation, different shades of specifically blended pigments are applied to the scalp to provide a consistent replication of the size, shape and density of natural-looking hair. MHT requires the practitioner to apply highly specialised pigments using a multitude of different needle sizes, penetration depths, angles, pigment colours and distribution rates. The needles do not penetrate as deeply as they do with a standard tattoo and the pigments used are unique to the treatment. They will not change colour over time unlike regular tattoo inks that have a tendency to change colour and migrate.
